Hpv Vaccine
HPV vaccines are particularly effective against types that carry cancer risk. HPV vaccine is most effective in the period before sexual contact, that is, before HPV is encountered. However, it is now recommended for wider age groups. Because protection from oncogenic types (carrying cancer risk) is important for all ages. It is important to talk to a health professional to get more information about genital wart diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and HPV vaccination.

What is HPV Vaccine?
HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) is a virus that can be transmitted sexually and cause genital warts, cervical cancer, vaginal cancer, vulva cancer, penis cancer and anus cancer. HPV vaccine, also known as genital wart vaccine or cervical cancer vaccine, is a vaccine developed especially against HPV types that cause cervical cancer in women. HPV vaccine helps prevent the development of genital warts and HPV-related cancer types. After the planning is completed, if orthodontic treatment is not necessary, the level disorders in the gums are corrected first. In case of tooth deficiencies, implant procedures and other surgical applications are performed. After the completion of the healing process of surgical interventions, teeth whitening procedures are applied if needed. After this stage, visual and stylistic defects in the teeth are corrected by using aesthetic composite fillings. In cases where this method is insufficient, porcelain, laminated or zirconium veneers are used. During all these gum and dental applications, the targeted smile design is finalised by considering the lip shape and contour.

It is preventive against HPV-induced cancers such as cervical cancer and genital warts in women, and HPV vaccine in men is also recommended to prevent health problems such as anal cancer and penile cancer.

Why is HPV vaccine given?
HPV vaccine is given to protect against human papillomavirus (HPV) infections. HPV can cause genital warts, as well as cervical cancer and other types of cancer. With the HPV vaccine, the risk of infections, genital warts and cancers caused by HPV is significantly reduced. General benefits of the HPV vaccine include:
Preventing HPV Infections: HPV vaccine provides effective protection against HPV infections, preventing the development of serious health problems such as genital warts, as well as cervical cancer, vulva cancer, vaginal cancer, penile cancer, anus cancer and oropharyngeal cancer.
Reducing the Risk of Cervical Cancer: The vaccine reduces the risk of cervical cancer in women by providing protection against HPV types that cause cervical cancer.
Preventing Other HPV-Related Cancers: The HPV vaccine also protects against other types of cancer caused by HPV, helping prevent cancers of the vulva, vagina, penis, anus, and oropharyngeal (throat).
Prevention of Genital Warts: The vaccine prevents the formation of genital warts by preventing the development of warts transmitted through sexual contact.
Building Community Immunity: Widespread use of the HPV vaccine can control the spread of HPV by building community immunity and contribute to the prevention of infections and cancers in the broader population.

How is HPV Vaccine Administered?
HPV vaccine consists of 3 doses and is administered intramuscularly. In individuals over 15 years of age, the second dose is administered 2 months after the first dose. The third dose of HPV vaccine is given 6 months after the second dose. In people under 15 years of age, a total of 2 doses are administered 6 months apart. It is important to take all doses completely because protection can be provided when all doses of HPV vaccine are completed.
